Praise God, my friend.

There are two words in the above verse that I want us to focus on today.

And those are: “Hold fast.”

Joshua said this to the Israelites after they had entered the land God had promised them.

They had seen God lead them, fight for them, and give them the land.

Yet Joshua still told them to hold fast to the Lord.

Why?

Because Joshua knew that after everything God had done for them, they could still turn away from Him.

But he wanted them to remain faithful to the Lord instead of letting the things around them pull them away from Him.

And there is something important for us in that, my friend.

When we are waiting for something, we spend a lot of time praying about it.

Then the prayer gets answered, and the thing that made us seek God so often is no longer there.

And, without even realising it, we focus more on what we got and forget who gave it to us.

God already knew that would happen, hence He gave us a reminder in Deuteronomy 8:17-18:

My friend, when God gives us something, let us not dwell in it more than we dwell in the Lord.

And let us keep our hearts humble, keep holding fast to the Lord, and always remember that we are nothing without our Lord.

May His will be done in our lives.

We don’t know who needs the above reminder, but God does, my friend.

So let us share it with a prayer.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father God,

Thank You for this new day and for allowing us to talk to You and have a connection with You.

Father, please help us hold fast to You, not only when we need something from You, but also when life is going well.

When You answer our prayers and give us good things, help us stay humble and remember that everything we have comes from You.

Please do not let the things we receive from You become the reason we slowly move away from You.

Keep our hearts close to You and remind us that we need You in every part of our lives.

And Father, I pray for my friend reading this right now.

You know what is going on in their life, what they are praying about, and what You have already given them.

Please help them keep their eyes on You through every season and never forget how much they need You.

As we share the above post, please let it reach the right person and speak to someone who needs these words today.
