Romans 12:12

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

Praise the Lord, my friend

Verses like Romans 12:12 sound beautiful and are something we all want to live out, right?

But when life starts to feel uncertain, practicing it can seem incredibly difficult.

Especially during moments when everything around us seems to be falling apart, and nothing is going the way we hoped.

Why?

Because we try doing things as per our plans and rely on our own strength and abilities for outcomes.

And I think that’s when we need this verse the most.

Because Romans 12:12 isn't asking us to pretend that everything is fine or to somehow be strong enough to handle it all.

It reminds us to simply turn to God and have hope in Him and just surrender to Him.

Yes, problems will arise, we will mess up, and life will feel hard.

But if we have hope in Him, are patient for His will to unfold, and pray to Him, no conflict will feel too discouraging or difficult for us.

Because we don’t have to face any of it alone.

Deuteronomy 31:8

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Don’t be afraid; don’t be discouraged.”

God will be right there, fighting our battles with us.

And all we need to do is seek His name, pray to Him, be patient, and let Him work in our lives.

So, if you’re going through a difficult time right now, please don’t give up, my friend.

Turn to God and have hope in Him, and surrender to Him.

Let His will be done.

Dear Father God,

Thank You for being with us through every season, especially the ones we don't understand.

When things don't go the way we hoped, and our hearts become tired, help us keep our hope in You.

Father, give us patience when we have to wait, and teach us to trust Your will instead of trying to control everything ourselves.

Help us remember to come to You in prayer, not only when things are going well, but especially when they aren't.

I also pray for my friend reading this right now.

You know what they are facing, what they are waiting for, and what has been weighing on their heart.

Please remind them that they don't have to go through it alone because You are with them and You will never leave them.

And as we share the above reel, please let it reach someone who needs this reminder today.

Use these simple words to turn their heart toward You and give them the desire to seek You.

Help us be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer.
