Praise the Lord, my friend

Sometimes in our faith journey, we find ourselves falling into the same old habits and sins again and again.

We confess our sin, ask God for forgiveness, and truly want to change.

But a circumstance or a certain temptation comes, and we fall into the same pothole again.

And when that happens, shame can make us want to hide from God instead of running toward Him.

Just the way it happened with Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden.

They felt shameful and not worthy enough to come in front of God Almighty.

So, is that what we are supposed to do?

Well, here’s what the Word of God tells us, my friend:

1 John 1:9

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

You see, God does not ask us to come to Him only after we have finally gotten everything right.

He asks us to confess our sins and come back to Him.

And when we do, He forgives us because He is faithful and loves us immensely.

Still, sometimes we keep carrying the guilt even after we have confessed.

We tell ourselves that we have failed too many times, or that God must be tired of forgiving us.

But that is not what Scripture says.

Romans 8:1

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

My friend, we should never treat sin lightly, but we also should not let shame keep us away from the One who forgives us.

When we fall, we should confess it, turn back to God, and keep walking with Him.

We may again stumble along the way, but we don’t have to let our failures convince us that we cannot get back up.

So, if you have been falling again and again into the same sin, please don’t hide from God.

Come back to Him, Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Confess it, ask for His help, keep your eyes on Him, and let Him take control.

Dear Father God,

Thank You for Your mercy and for always welcoming us back when we turn to You.

We know that we still struggle with sin, and sometimes we fall into the same mistakes even when we truly want to change.

Father, help us not to let guilt and shame keep us away from You.

Give us humble hearts that are willing to confess our sins, turn away from them, and ask You for the strength to do better.

Help us remember that Your grace is not something we should take for granted, but something that should draw us closer to You.

We also pray for my friend reading this right now.

You know the sin they are struggling with, the times they have fallen, and the guilt they may be carrying.

Please help them come back to You and remind them that they do not have to hide from You because of their failures.

And as we share the above content piece, please let it reach someone who needs this reminder today.

Let Your will be done and let Your name alone be glorified.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.
