Praise the Lord, my friend,

I’m writing this with a big smile on my face because something happened a few hours ago that I had been praying for.

My dad asked me a question about Jesus.

I know that sounds like a simple thing.

But it meant so much to me because my dad is an atheist.

And I have prayed many times that one day he would become curious about Jesus and want to know about Him.

Finallyyyyyyyy, it happened.

We ended up talking about Jesus and Christianity for a while, and honestly, it felt like a dream come true. 😅

God answered my prayer and gave me the right words to talk and answer questions my dad asked.

Talking about questions, one that always lingered in my mind before knowing Christ was the existence of God.

I feel there are many people out there who have this same question, my friend.

Some people say, “I don’t believe what I can’t see or visualize.” (My dad is one of them)

And some out there just say that if God really exists, then why does He allow so many bad things to happen around the world?

Valid arguments from a human mind’s pov, right?

And when there are questions and arguments raised, answers are naturally going to come into the picture, right?

So, some answers are based on theology, others on archeological evidence around the events from the scripture.

Or sometimes it is based on trying to align the threads of scripture and science to prove something profound.

Honestly, I have tried all of that before in some form, and I eventually found myself going in circles.

Because we try to answer a question that was never a question but a personal quest.

So, what do we do when someone asks us, “Does God really exist?”

Psalm 19:1
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”

You see, just as the heavens and nature tell about the existence of God, our experiences can also tell a story about Him.

We all have different experiences, and as believers, we can share what we have seen God do in our lives.

Ofc these experiences may not prove God to someone who does not believe, but they can help them understand why we believe.

Maybe hearing your story will make them curious and make them ask another question.

And maybe that question will lead them to start looking for the answer themselves.

So, whenever we encounter such a question, let us not get defensive or feel like we have to win an argument, my friend.

Let’s be willing to share what God has done in our lives and talk about Jesus.

And let’s pray for the person asking the question, and leave the rest in God’s mighty hands.

PS: This entire issue is a small reflection of a conversation I had with a brother from our church, Ranjeet, while returning home from Christmas carols last year.

Lord Jesus,

Thank You for giving us the freedom to ask questions and seek answers.

There are so many people who have questions about You, and sometimes we may not know exactly what to say.

Help us not to be afraid of those questions or feel like we have to have every answer.

Give us the wisdom to speak with kindness, the courage to share what You have done in our lives, and the humility to remember that You are the One who knows every heart.

For those who are searching for You, please meet them wherever they are.

Use the questions and conversations they have, and even the experiences they go through, to draw them closer to You.

As we share our stories, our experiences, and the things You have done in our lives, please use them for Your glory.

Let what we share in person or online reach someone who needs to hear it today and perhaps spark a desire in them to know You.

When we have the opportunity to talk about You, help us speak with love and honesty rather than trying to win an argument.

We leave every question, conversation, and story we share, and every person in Your hands.

May Your will be done.
