Praise the Lord, my friend,
We often ask God for wisdom when we have to make a difficult choice or an important decision, right?
And that’s how it should be done.
But do we really understand God's wisdom?
Is it just about the ability to make the right decision?
Well, the Word of God tells us this:
James 3:17-18
“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.”
You see, my friend, the above verse does not describe wisdom as simply knowing what to do.
It describes the character that comes with wisdom from above.
James says it is pure, peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
So, God’s wisdom is not just about what we know.
It is also about how that knowledge changes how we live and act.
For example, when we know we should forgive, wisdom does not just tell us that forgiveness is right.
It teaches us to choose mercy right in that moment.
And, when we are in a disagreement with someone, it does not simply help us prove our point.
But it teaches us to seek peace and practice forgiveness.
My friend, all of us know what the right thing is and still struggle to do it.
That is why we need more than knowledge.
We need God to transform our hearts and help us walk according to what He has shown us.
So when we pray for wisdom, let’s not only ask God to show us what decision to make, my friend.
Let’s also ask Him to help us live in a way that reflects the wisdom that comes from Him.
Because wisdom from above is not something we are meant to keep in our heads.
It should be seen in the way we live and glorify our Father in Heaven.
Btw, if you’ve forgotten, let me remind you that Jesus LOVES YOUUUUUUUUU 🫵🏻 🥰
Share with Prayer:
We don’t know who needs to see this above creative, but God does.
So let us share it with a prayer, my friend.
Let’s Pray:
Dear Father God,
Thank You for giving us Your Word and for teaching us what true wisdom looks like.
We often ask You to guide our decisions, but help us also remember to let Your wisdom shape the way we speak, respond, and treat others.
Father, when we are angry, hurt, or unsure of what to do, please give us wisdom from above.
Help us choose peace, show mercy, and remain sincere, even when it is difficult.
We also pray for my friend reading this right now.
You know the decisions they are facing and the situations they are dealing with.
Please give them the wisdom they need and help them trust You as they walk through them.
And as we share this creative, please use it to reach someone who needs Your wisdom today.
Let these words point them back to Your Word and draw them closer to You.
Help us not only to ask for Your wisdom, but to live by it.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.
